Said was born in Monterrey, Mexico (1983). He currenly works on nonlinear and quantum optics in France, as a Marie Curie Individual Fellow at the Centre de Nanosciences et de Nanotechnologies. Said has co-authored more than 23 peer-reviewed publications, filed for 4 patents, given 16 invited talks or seminars, and won the best presentation prizes at  several international conferences. Said obtained his PhD at the Eindhoven University of Technology, after working in the group of Jaime Gomez Rivas at FOM Institute AMOLF and Philips, in the Netherlands.  For his PhD thesis Said received the degree of ‘Cum Laude’ (top 3-5% of all PhDs in the Netherlands), the FOM Thesis prize (best physics thesis of 2014-2015 in the Netherlands), and an honorable mention for the Christiaan Huygens prize (2nd best physics thesis in the past 5 years in the Netherlands) .  Said serves regularly as reviewer for scientific journals such as Physical Review Letters, Physical Review X, Physical Review A, Physical Review B, Physical Review Applied, Scientific Reports, Optics Express, Optics Letters, Journal of Optics, American Journal of Physics, Journal of Applied Physics,  and Advanced Optical Materials. In his free time, Said enjoys the company of his wife, reading, traveling, listening and playing music.
