– PhD granted with ‘Cum Laude’ (Greatest Distinction reserved for top 3-5% of all PhDs in the Netherlands)
– Recipient of the 2016 Best Physics Thesis prize from FOM.
FOM was the Dutch Institute of Physics, and with this prize they recognized the best thesis of all Physics in the Netherlands. The prize included 10,000 Euros and an invited talk at a special session at the Physics@FOM conference.
